Reflecting on Core Values: Cohesiveness


At Jovian Concepts, our Core Values speak to what others seek in Jovian Concepts and what our employees seek in each other, in company leadership, and in themselves. Cohesiveness is one of our five Core Values: Professionalism, Loyalty, Balance, Cohesiveness, and Personal Growth.

How do we know Cohesiveness is a Core Value?

Cohesiveness is the Core Value behind the family atmosphere of Jovian Concepts. President and CEO Richard Scheper says, “We bring everyone together so we can learn from each other. That’s what we mean by being a family.” Employees echo the sentiment in discussions about what they value in the company.

Cohesiveness has been part of the Jovian Concepts culture since the company formed. Our Mission Statement, created by employees in 2012, specifically mentions this Core Value being part of what Jovian Concepts employees bring to their relationships with each other and with customers.

To consistently provide visionary solutions to technical and professional challenges by fostering an innovative, proactive, and cohesive culture for our customers and within the Jovian family.

What does Cohesiveness look like?

Because Jovian Concepts employees work in a variety of locations, we strive to bring everyone together a few times each year to eat and socialize. The yearly teambuilding retreat, leadership retreats, and synchronized recreational events across locations are a few ways Jovian Concepts fosters Cohesiveness.

In addition to company-led activities, employee-initiated efforts add to the camaraderie and family-like atmosphere. The online meeting place for “Plus Ones”, dog park gatherings, and health-goal challenges are examples of Jovian Concepts employees and their families demonstrating that Cohesiveness is a Core Value.

Community outreach projects, initiated by employees or by company leadership, give us an opportunity to extend our cohesive spirit to the people around us. Supporting fundraisers led by our community partners, inviting neighbors to a blood drive, running in marathons, and raising awareness for both education and support for active military, veterans, and their families, Jovian Concepts and our extended family form a cohesive charge for positive change. It's a Big Idea to hold the Cohesiveness of employees and their communities as a Core Value, and at Jovian Concepts, we're all about Big Ideas.
