This is part of a series of posts introducing the Board of Directors who served Jovian Concepts, Inc., prior to the company becoming Jovian Concepts LLC in February 2026. Scroll through the News page of our site to get to know each Director. Corey Clatworthy is the current president of Jovian Concepts. Richard Scheper, founder of Jovian Concepts, now serves as a consultant for the company along with former Vice President/Director Heather Johnson and former Director Stacey Scheper.

Richard Scheper set out to create a company that was different from all the previous employers he’d encountered. Building Jovian Concepts on the idea that the role of the company is to support the employee, Dr. Scheper structured Jovian Concepts to focus on a family-like culture. As an astrophysicist, he invoked the largest planet in our solar system to name Jovian Concepts, representing both the "big ideas" the company provides to customers and the unique emphasis placed on building a strong corporate culture.
Dr. Scheper is a distinguished alumnus from Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland.
Favorite thing about Jovian Concepts: "My favorite thing about the company is seeing the culture in action at the team build and holiday party. Seeing lots of smiling faces and fellow Jovians enjoying each other always makes my day and reminds me that starting this company was worth it."
Best Jovian Concepts memory: "That would have to be our first Cancun trip when we spent all day together in the pool. I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard since."
Favorite book: Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand
Favorite hobbies: beekeeping, metal working, cooking, making wine, playing board and video games
