See Yourself in Cyber this Month

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month so Jovian Concepts is sharing some tips for staying cyber safe.

Cybersecurity isn’t just for techies. Everyone can follow these easy steps to help protect their information and their organization from cyber threats.

  1. Enable multi-factor authentication such as a call, text, app, or key. Other terms to describe this practice are two-factor authentication, two-step authentication, MFA (multi-factor authentication).

  2. Use strong passwords. Long passwords are more effective than short passwords. Combined with multi-factor authentication, even better! More tips for creating strong passwords can be found in our past post: https://www.jovianconcepts.com/single-post/it-s-world-password-day

  3. Recognize and report phishing. Do not reply or click on any attachment or link in the phishing email-- not even an 'unsubscribe' link. Delete the phishing email. For more information about avoiding email scams, visit: https://www.jovianconcepts.com/single-post/fight-the-phish

  4. Keep your software updated. No one likes having to restart and refresh, but falling into debt when it comes to your software updates can put your system at risk.

It's a Big Idea to stay cyber aware.

Big Ideas are Jovian Concepts.
