Get Involved with Jovian Concepts-- Winter 2026

Veterans Connect is the internal resource group for veterans and their closest supporters at Jovian Concepts. The group is pleased this season that Jovian Concepts announced a new benefit for veterans and their families. Jovian Concepts now covers yearly membership in the VFW or American Legion, including auxiliary groups! The attention Jovian Concepts gives to veteran support is one of the reasons Jovian Concepts is recognized by the Department of Labor with a Platinum HIRE Vets Medallion.

In January our Veterans Connect group hosted the American Legion Post 175 inaugural event for American Legion Gaming (AGL), a new initiative aiming to help veterans build connections and community. With pizza, XBox, OCLUS, and old school tabletop games, the event was a guaranteed hit made especially fun because the snowstorm held off until it ended --whew!

Speaking of the snow, our Down to Earth Jovians are braving the weather to meet the winter benchmarks set in the Get Moving Challenge. In January we each biked, walked, cycled, and ran for either 30 or 50 miles. Our February leader is challenging Jovians to stay heart-healthy by completing a bingo grid designed with American Heart Month in mind. Jumping jacks and adding new recipes to our routines are just two examples of how we're Up to the Challenge despite the icy sidewalks.

If you are in the market for a new recipe, contact a Jovian to ask them about our 'tasting' happy hours. After the success of our pickle tasting last season, we're at it again -- this time with chocolate. Jovians are pairing various chocolates with wine, beer, whiskey or flavored seltzers to name a winning combo. Will it be cookies-n-cream white chocolate paired with apple seltzer? Or maybe Rolos with cabernet sauvignon? Jovians are on the case.

The final Friday in February marks the end of a successful food drive at Jovian Concepts. Our community friends are helping us stuff a car again this year full of non-perishables for the Maryland Food Bank to meet the needs of the post-holiday season. The drive is extended due to the Maryland winter weather we can't seem to stop talking about.

With a little more time than usual spent indoors, our Jovian Concepts Professional Development and Personal Growth Book Club is seeking good vibes by finishing Joyspan: The Art and Science of Thriving in Life's Second Half, by Dr. Kerry Burnight. Some of the advice in the book aligns perfectly with the Core Values of Jovian Concepts, sparking rich discussions at meetings and get togethers, such as the Sit-and-Stitch gatherings led by the "JoviYarn Crafters" group and the popular "bedazzling" happy hour held in January.

With a crafting group, book club, fitness/healthy living group, Veterans Connect, and more (did you know we have a Lego group? a Sell-n-Swap group?), there is something for everyone at Jovian Concepts this season. Like our Core Values and Mission Statement, our cultural activities are formed by employees who are committed to making the company a Top Workplace, somewhere they want to be.
